This past month we moved our humble print farm more than 1000 miles away. We love our new place and we love our new space and we're scrambling to keep up with orders. Can I still place my order with Good and Basic Manufacturing?
Yes, please do. We love new orders! Why the week+ shipping schedule? We keep our printers running to reduce shipping time. However, keep in mind that each spinning wheel takes about 36 hours to print. So, if we have 10 wheels in the hopper... it's basically Rent, but without the backup singers. We do other things like eat and sleep, as well, which can cut into print time. Because of the rolling print time, we sometimes don't have specific parts pre-printed, and end up printing on demand. Most orders do ship on time, however. Will Good and Basic Manufacturing offer any new colors? YES. We are so excited to offer new styles for all of our fiber products. Well, Joseph is pleased, and I'm ecstatic, so that adds up to excited, right? We're looking into offering at least 3 more colors in the near future, pending positive testing. Stay tuned! Didn't you say something about more products? Yes. Yes, we did. We plan on releasing a table loom and a drum carder in the not-to-distant future. Part of the crunch for releasing new products was limited storage and development space, which we've fortunately upgraded in our recent move. More products are definitely coming. I have an idea for a new product. Can I submit it to you? Yes. We are open to new ideas for fiber tech. In fact, if you send us a new idea which we prototype and release as a product, we'll send you the first working product, hot off the presses. (To be very clear, "hot off the presses" is an expression, because hot plastic is not fun to touch and it may have cooled by the time it reaches you, anyway.) There you have it. 5 questions and answers from our new space. Happy spinning!
