It's April, and since it's the start of the tourist season in England, we're pleased to offer a brief glimpse inside the Framework Knitter's Museum in Nottingham. Hooray! First, Joseph and Joseph discuss types of knitting machines, bearded needles, and imitation lace. I didn't know that needles had beards, and it's taking all of my self-restraint to avoid saying that it's probably because they look so similar to dwarf men. The internet is a glorious place. Anyway! This video is a micro view of what knitting and fiber tech would have looked like on an individual scale. Second, Joseph and Joseph take a wider view over the economics and history of knitting machines. The whole video--and I literally mean the whole video--is Joseph LOSING HIS MIND over how cool knitting machines and technology are and how they've developed over the centuries. A handy demonstrator also shares some neat history facts over a cup of tea. For all of our compatriots who would like to travel, but haven't made it over to England yet, you're welcome. Good luck with your projects and happy spinning!
